Me In A Nutshell
"D" for Disgruntled (D4D) is an independent music composer creating his own “concept” soundtrack albums to movies, shows and games that DON’T EXIST. This has resulted from his growing dissatisfaction with current modern trends in music for media content as well as media content overall, “D” has turned his efforts from chasing down content creators and studios for work to instead create music he would like to hear in movies, shows and games.
Using his storytelling abilities, he conceives a narrative around which to compose supporting music. Each story is of his own creation as well as the music that goes with it. His specialty genres are sci-fi, action and horror scores. Occasionally he will get in touch with his human emotional side to create some heart felt dramatic moments in his music.
Stylistically, his music ranges from Synthwave, Trance & Electronica, Sound Design, Industrial to Traditional Orchestral. Composers whose music has been an inspiration for D4D are Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Christopher Young, Richard Band, John Carpenter, Tangerine Dream, Hans Zimmer, and Marco Beltrami.
D4D has also started a series of albums called “Horror Re-Scored” in which he selects a particular horror film he favored growing up as well as in adulthood and re-scores it as though he had been hired to do it originally. He composes a new complete score without using any of the original copyrighted material. It is all his own copyrighted musical ideas. If he were to ever use previous material, he always secures a Mechanical License for use of the original copyrighted materials.
